Reading Lesson No4

Before you start the lesson please ensure you are comfortable with both, the sound of the Ivrit letters and the  Ivrit vowel system - The sound symbols.

Note: To make it simple, I will be using colours for the sound symbols to help you remember the sound they give the letter.  I will be dropping the colours as you progress through the lessons.

Sounds: O

The dot on top / Vav with dot on top, makes the sound O - They will be orange  סֹ סוֹ 

The 2 vertical dots or no sound symbol, makes quick sound will be Brown סְ ס 

Silent letter will be light Grey.

  Remember: Bet has 2 sounds  and V
  Bo = בּו  /  Bo = בּׂ

Remember: Tsadi can sound like cho if it has apostrophe

   Cho = ֹצ'וֹ  /   Tso = ֹֹצוֹ  /    Tso = צׂ

 Fo = פוֹ  /  Fo = פׂ

 Ro = רוֹ  /  Ro = רׂ
So = סוֹ /  So = סׂ
Sho = ֹשׁוֹ /  Sho = ׁשׁׂ
Lo = לוֹ  /  Lo = לׂ
Mo = מוֹ  /  Mo = מׂ

And so on...

Loft = לוֹפְט
Ox = אוֹקְס
More = מֹר
Shock = שׁוֹק
Remember: Tsadi with apostrophe sound CH
Chore = צ'וֹר

Remember: Alef is silent when it appears without sound symbol
 Rock = רׂאק
More = מֹאר
Chore = צ'אוֹר
Chore = צ'וֹאר
